“I think he just gave me this so that I could be sure I’m not an ordinary human, and that if the words of these spells have any effect, then it’s because he’s right.”
Marcus got up, looking at the book as if it were a living and threatening force.
“If you intend to keep reading, I’ll get out of here. I don’t want to associate myself with witchcraft. This could worsen the situation of the alpha’s curse.”
I sighed, nodding.
“So you’d better leave soon, because I’m already memorizing a few words, and I’m going to make rat hair grow around your nose.”
Marcus seemed very scared and literally ran out of the shed. I laughed, then felt guilty for provoking the palpable fear of that werewolf. If Randall had been cursed by the witch a long time ago, then it was easy to understand the reasons for their fear. I, in my inconsequential state, seemed angry with my father and wanted to prove he was wrong, so I started reading the spell.
