Zira’s POV

I sat there at the side of my parents’ house. Still shocked by the scene before. There they were, sitting around the dining table. Each in their own world. No one was speaking, joking around, or even looking at each other. We were never quiet at a dining table.

Either my mom talks about her day at work or my dad talks about training the younger pups. Even Zed throws in a ‘I’m better at everything’, comparing himself to his friends.

Even the scenery looked drab and there was not one dessert or cookie in sight. There was nothing and it was probably because of me. I grabbed my hair in frustration, trying to keep my tears at bay. I blocked my mind from James or he would instantly be on alert and come find me.

I sat there trying to think of what to do. If I went in there, it would turn into this big thing which would bring unwanted attention, but I couldn’t leave it like this. I would never forgive myself. I peeked again to see everyone had left
