Chapter 123

Zira’s POV

We burst into the pack hospital with Jack and Hunter holding Isaiah up while I applied pressure to his wound. The hospital was a bit busy with the victims of Alaia’s little sleeping potion. Doctor Callie directed us to an empty room and they laid Isaiah on the bed.

I kept the pressure on his wound as one of the nurses tried to take over. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with me, but I didn’t want to move. I didn’t want him to die. It wasn’t until James touched my shoulders that I let the nurse do her job.

“He’s going to be okay, Zira,” James said while trying to pull me away from Isaiah, but my hand didn’t want to let go.

“I can’t lose him too, James. I can’t,” I said, looking at him. I knew seeing how much I cared for Isaiah would hurt him, but I knew he would understand. I hope he will understand.

“You won’t, Zira. Just let them work, OK?” I nodded and reluctantly let go of Isaiah’s hand.
