He pulled her along with him, taking her straight into his hut. As soon as he sat on the bed with her in his lap, he looked down at his watch. “What time is it, Celeste?”
Celeste shrugged, her eyes drifting down to his watch. “Oh would you look at that? It’s 10:05, way past my shower time.”
Xavier chuckled. “I should just gobble you up. You’re a trouble maker, you know that? So darn stubborn that you make me look bad. Have I spoiled you too much?”
“Perhaps…” Celeste turned to look at him. “But where’s the war you declared?”
“The war?” He chuckled. “How about we not call it a war?”
His index ran along her neck. “Why don’t we call it crossing the line?”
