Chapter 48. Poisoned
“Come in,” Zion called from the other side of the door, and I pushed it open. I decided to take their advice and confront him myself. This was risky because he might end up not telling me and move whatever he was hiding before I could find out, but I could no longer act as though I didn't care because curiosity was killing me.
“Hey, sweetheart, do you need anything?” Zion stood up from his seat and walked around the table to place a kiss on my lips and forehead before drawing me into his arms.
“Definitely not your kisses or hugs,” I laughed when he only squeezed me tighter instead of giving me a reply.
