Chapter 66. The Cabin
I felt a tap on my shoulders, and turned to see Gabrielle standing behind me with a sceptical look on her face.
I didn’t know how to feel about her presence since we hadn’t exactly talked since I was made Luna, and I knew she still disliked me for taking her supposed place. I didn’t know what to expect, but I braced myself for anything and dropped the book I had been reading on the chair before giving her my full attention.
“Can I help you with anything?” My voice came out harder than I intended it to, and she flinched back in surprise, but I didn’t try to apologise. I didn’t think I owed it to her.
“Sorry for disturbing you, Luna. I just wanted to have a word with you, if you don’t mind?” I studied her and she didn’t have any trace of animosity on her face, nor did she put a bite in her tone when she addressed me by my title.
