I took a deep breath before looking into the eyes of the person who had come to mean the whole world to me. I wanted to tell her the truth, I had to even if it would break her, but I couldn't keep it anymore. She had already found out about Zuri, and I knew she must be dying with worry from thinking about how Zuri was connected to her pack.

I tried my best to shield her from the painful truth, but she thought it was because I didn’t trust her and not because I was protecting her. She wanted the truth, and I would tell her.
