Chapter 65. Drifting apart
I was trembling as I stood frozen in front of my room. The sight before me was terrifying and a cold reminder that I was in danger and my attacker was very close by. My heart was pounding in my chest, my breathing hollow and ragged, and my eyes wider than they had ever been as I took it all in.
After the first scream tore from my throat, I wanted to move, to say something or to look away, but I couldn’t. I was paralysed with terror.
I was barely aware of the multiple footsteps rushing towards me and the chaos in Zion’s head as he constantly kept asking me if I was alright or if I was hurt was making me dizzy. He was panicking, I was scared, and the mate bond was on a tight strain.
Zion was the first to get to me.
He came to a stop beside me, in front of the open doors, panting and taking the stance of a man about to go to war. His mouth opened to ask me something, but he saw the state of my room and he stepped back in shock. Before I knew it, he was bursting
