POV: Lulu Winters

My heart was pounding more and more. The fight was changing, and the tables were turning every 1:30 minutes. It looked as if they were winning, and then the next second, it was the other people who had the upper hand in this situation. I was becoming more and more worried about him, and, during that, he was going to lose because of me. I was the only person in the entire room who didn't know how to fight, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my boyfriend was able to do any of this in the first place.

It was as if I had truly underestimated the morale that was coming out of this man. Obviously, Kit was quite skilled, as was Jester, and the girl who was fighting with them. I noticed that from time to time, when she wasn't too busy fighting for her life, she would look at me curiously, like somebody who was staring at a cockroach, and something about her gaze felt dehumanizing.
