Racheal looked at Steffan who was staring at her in disbelief.

“Of course I believe him. Ben’s confession was what let me off the hook. I don’t know just how much he said in front of the cops, but Delbert has no reason to lie to me.”

“You really defend this man hard.”

She almost retorted that he had been no different in the past with the way he defended Thalia.

But she said nothing.

She forked a bite of egg into her mouth, and chewed so she would not be tempted to speak.

“All these are more reasons why we need to speak with Delbert,” Steffan said.

“He will not help you.” Racheal replied.

“You are so certain.”

“Delbert will not help you find answers. He refused to answer even my own questions. There is something bigger at play with all of you. The Dallozs, Sherrods, Sanders.”

She was convinced of this now, especially while she had been talking to the old lady earlier today.
