Enzo’s POV

The lady in my arms stiffens the moment my question reaches her ear.

I have known for the longest time that Maria was in love with me. I didn’t bother to act on it because I didn’t feel that way towards her and she was certainly not my type and let’s not forget the life of a wolf. The moon goddess always chose for us and she didn’t make me and Maria mates.

The other reason why I didn’t act on it was because Maria didn’t act on it too and that’s one reason I respect her till date, she knew how to keep her distance and I hope it remains so.

“You knew from the beginning that she loved you?” Michelle asks me after a while as I bury my face in the crook of her neck and I sniff in her scent making me groan lightly. My whole body feels weak but being next to this woman makes me feel so much better.

“Hmm” I nod, “I knew from the onset”

“So why didn’t you do anything about it”

Is this lady being serious right now?

“Why would I
