Chapter 22

Dalia’s POV

I stood in front of the apartment for as long as I could remember, my heart racing miles per hour. It wasn’t until Chelsea pulled me into the apartment that I realized I had been standing in front of the door without the intention of entering or knocking on the door.

“What the heck, Lia? You made me scared. Why were you standing in front of the door for so long? I thought it was one of the guys I dumped that came to get revenge on me,” she asked with a bat in her hand.

I’d have commented on her actions if I had been in my right mind. I walked over to the couch in a daze, ignoring her questions.

She noticed my actions and came to sit near me. “What’s wrong, Lia. You look like you just encountered a ghost, talk to me. Also, where is your bag, why are you home empty handed?” She asked with a worried tone.

That was what jolted me out of my dazed state and I realized I dropped my phone and bag in Alexander’s car in the heat of the moment.<
