Dalia’s POV

Fuck my life! Of all people in New York City, I hooked up with my boss? I wanted to crawl into a hole and die but kept a smile I hoped was professional on my face.

He was quietly observing me until his friend asked if we knew each other, making me hold my breath, hoping he’d say no. He could have said no and stopped at that, why did he add the fact that he doesn’t think I’m competent. His response hurt me but I hoped it did not show on my face.
