[Author's POV]

Justin drove his van in the dark and there were hardly any vehicles in sight. To make the whole situation worse, it was raining cats and dogs and he couldn't help but shiver as the cold crept up his body slowly.

He glanced at the white Bolognese puppy which was sleeping peacefully in the Passenger seat and wrapped in his jacket.

Justin muttered a cuss word under his breath as he had been taught never to say out such shitty things aloud. It was disheartening for him to see the runaway animal sleeping so profoundly in his own jacket while he was shivering like he was about to die.

He was aware he could make a U-turn and go back home, but he had made a promise to his grandmother to bring Amber home and promises were meant to be kept and he never broke a promise.
