Chapter 208. Lend Me Your Ear
Nathan’s POV
I was standing next to Amelie when she dropped. Luckily, I saw it happen out of the corner of my eye and reached over to grab her before she hit the cement. She just went limp.
“Amelie, kitten?” I yelled. “Amelie.”
I dropped to the ground and cradled her head in my lap. Detective Anton rushed over to us. He grabbed Amelie’s hand and took her pulse on her wrist.
“Pulse is still strong; she must have fainted,” Detective Anton advised.
“I’ll go get a cold compress,” said the lady, who I can only assume was Eliza’s teacher. She ran towards the school.
I knew the stress of everything had been getting to Amelie a bit, but I obviously underestimated how much. I’m going to get her to see a doctor for a check-up.
