“My mom died in a car accident,” I responded.

“That’s what you want to believe,” Vivian sneered.

“What do you mean?” I asked, puzzled.

“Do I have to spell it out for you?” Vivian scoffed. “I… killed… your… mother.”

“What? How?” I exclaimed.

“You see, the accident was set up,” Vivian recounted. “William’s brakes were disabled right before the stop sign. Granted, the logistics for everything were very hard to do, but Evander is amazing at it.”

“You caused the crash?” I said, flabbergasted.

“Yes, but that’s not the best part of it,” Vivian smirked. “Your mother didn’t die in the crash.”
