Nathan’s POV
I’m so glad that I arranged for Trudy to pick up Eliza from school and take her to her appointment yesterday. I’m so exhausted, but in a good way. Amelie and I spent most of the night talking and fucking. Sure, it wasn’t the kind of stuff where you bang your wife against the wall, due to my lifting restriction, but it was mind-blowing nonetheless. I know I say it or think it all the time, but I can’t get enough of her. It’s like an obsession. When I woke up, we were tangled up in each other. I sure missed that while I was in the hospital. It’s like having a human security blanket. I didn’t want to wake her, so I lay there, not moving, and just listening to the sound of her gentle purring noises.
“I love you, Amelie Jane Michaels,” I whispered softly.
Amelie stirred in her sleep and smiled, but didn’t wake up. My god, she is beautiful
