Why does it feel like I licked sandpaper? Oh yeah, I smirked, purple. How can I remember that, but can’t remember how I got home and into bed? It must have been Amelie. I smiled at the thought. I turned my head to the side and opened my eyes. Ugh… why is it so bright? I squeezed my eyes shut again.

“Turn off the lights,” I grumbled.

“Good morning, sunshine,” Amelie said perkily. I didn’t have to open my eyes to see her to know that she was grinning like the Cheshire cat. “That light is the sun.”

“Turn off the sun,” I chuckled.
