But now, that ever-confident individual was crumbling, consumed by sorrow over a single girl. It was evident that in Kane’s heart, Lani held immense significance.
Kane continued to drink without pause. After about half an hour, his eyes blurred, and his thoughts were chaotic and hazy. Weary, he leaned back into the chair, despondent, closing his eyes. The intoxication left him so disoriented that suddenly he couldn’t distinguish where he was, vaguely asking Roger beside him, “Where are we?”
Upon hearing this, Roger knew Kane was intoxicated. He sighed, standing up to take him home.
Roger replied, “We’re at the bar. Where’s your place? Let me take you home; you’re drunk.”
Roger knew where Kane lived, but since Kane moved into Lani’s place, he had only heard about it and didn’t know where Lani’s home was. As for Kane, the only one who knew the way home was already too intoxicated, feeling the world spinning around him.
