Wherever Lani went, he followed. Even at lunchtime, they ordered takeout and sat, Lani nestled in Kane’s embrace on the sofa. Lani leaned against Kane’s chest while watching the movie, and every time she slightly moved, Kane would startle and hold her even tighter, causing Lani to burst into laughter.
“Alright, relax a bit. I have no intention of going anywhere,” Lani reassured Kane multiple times before he finally loosened his grip. However, he would still glance at Lani, confirming she was still there, sighing with relief.
A peaceful day passed by. By nightfall, Lani found herself tightly embraced by Kane to the point where she could hear the rhythmic beating of his heart against her ear.
The next day, Kane woke Lani to catch their flight on time. Holding hands, they stepped into a taxi and headed to the airport. Upon meeting Aurora, a perplexing smile appeared on her face.
