Mabel POV

A hush fell on the balcony as our eyes drifted to Mama Emelda.

Alec looped his arm around my waist, while Kyu-hun walked back to Ruth.

“Mama...” Alec breathed.

She blinked. “Yes. What's going on?”

A knowing smile passed between the four of us.

“Ruth and Mabel are pregnant,” Alec announced.

Mama gasped. Twice. “My girls are pregnant?”

I sniffled. “Yes, we are.”

Mama pulled out her handkerchief and dabbed her eyes before throwing her arms open. “Come here.”

My best friend and I went into her embrace and she held us as if we were the most precious things on earth.
