Chapter 24. A Weird Arrangement

Roman’s POV 

I walked toward Sofie, smirking inwardly as she nervously fidgeted with her shirtsleeves, although the shirt was technically mine.

I basked in the proud sensation that engulfed me when I saw how reddened her cheeks were, and how she couldn't seem to hold my gaze, and had her stare fixated behind me.

Cupping her jaw with a hand, I smirked, “Was that what you were expecting to hear? That cliché, overused line?”

She seemed bedazzled as she finally averted her gaze on me, “I-I don't understand what you mean by that. What are you trying to say?” She stuttered.

I chuckled as I cocked my head to look directly into her eyes, “Last night was everything but a mistake, we had a nice time together. I was merely teasing you.”

Her hazel eyes widened, “So you don't think it was a drunken mistake then. Is that what you are trying to say?”
