Chapter 14
Alden wished he could call out to Alice and ask for help to take him to the hospital. Or at least, call a doctor to check on his condition. Anything to relieve the intense throbbing in his head.
In Alden's mind, he believed that Alice would never care about how he was feeling right now. But the reality was different; Alice knew exactly what he was feeling and what he needed at the moment.
Suddenly, Alden felt someone reaching for his hand and checking his pulse.
"How much did he drink last night?" asked a middle-aged man in a black and white uniform.
The man sat on the edge of the bed, his hands busy examining Alden's condition.
"I don't know, Doctor. Because I went to bed earlier than Alden last night," Alice replied, moving closer to see how her husband was doing.
