Ever since Alden was appointed as the leader in the company, he hardly had any time to relax in his apartment. Especially to mend his relationship with Alice. After the incident that night, their relationship became more distant and estranged.

Alice was busy with her thesis, and Alden was busy with managing the two companies that had been merged into one. He barely had more than half an hour for meals, let alone to have a chat with Alice. All of this happened because his own company and Chloe's had just been merged. So, for the next two months, he wouldn't have much time to rest, as the schedule had been set long before Chloe passed away.

Alice herself was just as busy as Alden. She had to work on her thesis at the same time she supervised the workers at the garment factory. The person who used to manage and oversee the factory, a legacy from her father, was on maternity leave. For the next four months, Alice had to take over.

However, their busyness didn't change anythin
