Undeterred by her swollen eyes, puffy face, and her increasingly hoarse and tired voice, Sherena continued to sob. She sat, hugging her knees tightly. Her heart ached and felt torn seeing Edrik leave her alone in the midst of a piercing sense of emptiness. It made her unable to speak much, her wounds gaping and painful. The pain was so intense that Sherena couldn't stop her tears, not knowing how long she had been crying.
