As they ran in comfortable silence, Emmeline sneaked sidelong glances at her companion, admiring the easy athleticism of his movements. “I have to admit, it’s rather impressive to find a man your age who still prioritizes physical fitness,” she remarked between measured breaths. “Not many forty-somethings bother keeping up with such a rigorous routine. You must hit the gym religiously.”
Zavian arched a brow. ‘Oh, if you knew how old I truly am,’ he mused inwardly with his expression a study in arrogant male confidence. “Let’s just say I’m blessed with excellent genes, baby,” he rumbled, not even sounding winded. “This physique requires minimal maintenance on my part.”
