Yuna flinched visibly before rising to her feet to interrupt Brody’s argument.
“Objection!” Her voice rang out sharply. “Counselor Park is making baseless speculations. There is no evidence for what he is saying.”
She stood with confidence, but one could see the slight tremor in her hands. The only outward sign of her inner turmoil.
Brody turned to face her directly. “Tell me, how else can a woman who has been married for half a year be unsure whether she is still a virgin?” he asked with disarming simplicity
Before Yuna could formulate a response, Brody pressed his advantage.
“Mrs. Maine underwent examination long before this trial,” he added with a note of sarcasm. “She had no reason to lie at that time.”
“Do you have evidence to support these accusations, Counselor Park?” Judge Harrison demanded.
