My jaw dropped from the shock.

"You fired her? Why?" I asked.

He scowled suddenly, "It's not something we should talk about in the office."

I nodded, thinking he had closed the chapter but he surprised me by standing and taking his jacket.

He walked back to me and stretched his hand to me, "Come on," he said.
