Chapter 129
Damon's POV
I couldn't contain my anger as I confronted the shivering maid. The sight of her trembling only fueled my frustration. "Why are you shivering?" I barked, my voice laced with impatience. "Tell me the truth."
Her eyes darted around nervously as she stammered, denying any knowledge or involvement. "I... I don't know anything, sir," she whimpered. "I swear, I haven't seen or heard anything."
Elysia stepped forward, her arms crossed, and added her voice to mine. Her tone carried a sense of urgency and a warning. "You better start telling us the truth," she asserted firmly. "Because if you don't, you'll find yourself behind bars instead of serving in this mansion."
The maid's fear became evident, her trembling form betraying her anxiety. She understood the gravity of withholding information from both us and the authorities.
Leaning in closer, my voice dropped to a low but intense tone. "Why are you shivering? What are you so afraid of?"
