Elysia's POV

"Yes I did." He responded coldly. 

For a moment it was as if I was hit by a storm, searching his eyes for every possibility of our encounter to be purely intentional. 

I gulp my saliva, biting down my tongue as I tried to coerce myself into believing that he mustn't have approached me on purpose, and before I could ask, he grunted and said,

"I'm sorry, I did approach you on purpose. I just couldn't believe that Jake was dead and all over the media, they blamed you."

He paused for a moment, making me scoffed.

I was fooled. I can't believe I fell for his cheap tactics.

"You fooled me." I yelled.

"I'm sorry Elysia. But the truth about Jake's death, I need to know."

His question came like whirl wind. I was guilty for Jake's death. If he was never involved with me, he'd still be alive.

Still, I couldn't say the truth, not now when I need Damon to cancel the my sister's engagement.
