Chapter 59. Let’s End Here

Everything happened so fast. Suddenly, Matthew walked quickly to Sarah and pulled her into his arms. The time she has seemed to have stopped for her. The smell she missed, the heartbeat she wanted to hear, the breath that haunted her daily. She closed her eyes, inhaled Matthew's perfume, and kept it in her memory.

"Matthew! Your mother!" Amanda shouted, making Matthew turn around and take his arms off Sarah.

On the floor, Matthew's mother collapsed, unconscious.

"Mom! Mom!" Matthew knelt, lifting his mother's head into his lap.

"We have to go to the hospital!" Amanda said frantically. She glanced at Sarah sharply as if blaming her for what happened to Matthew's mother.

Matthew rushed to carry his mother. He glanced at Sarah before leaving and whispered, "Wait for me..." which was barely audible.

Sarah didn't react and stared at the panic scene with an emotionless blank stare.
