Chapter 122. Fear
Shadow’s POV
Behind a tree, deep within a place of darkness, the shadow blinked,
Her eyes grew wide as her gaze locked on the cottage.
“Does she know she is practically lighting a bonfire to the world?” she thought, her pulse racing as a pang of fear rose up within her.
The little structure of the cottage rattled and trembled as if in the middle of an earthquake. But the shadow wasn’t looking at the cottage, she was staring at the weave.
Through the snow, the weave glowed, pulsed and thrummed. It moved violently in waves of silver strands that crackled as if they were thunder. The weave erupted.
And the shadow stepped back. Her legs moving before the thought could even cross her mind. She was shocked, not because she thought Aria would sense her. No, the girl was far too... occupied ---- but because the weave erupting had created a barrier around the cottage that somehow extended deeper into the whitevale.
