Rose’s POV
For what felt like the hundredth time in the past few hours, Rose paced along the narrow length of her cottage, her brows furrowed as her boots tapped heavily on the worn stone floor.
It had been hours since she had seen Aria off, and Rose had spent every single minute since then being lost in her thoughts. Every time she tried to do something else, her mind always circled back to the same thought.
She might have spoken to Aria with confidence about her suspicion that she had seen a shadow and her other suspicion that the shadow might be her mother. But now? With every single minute that passed, she lost confidence in what she thought she had seen.
