Olivia POV

I curled up on the plush sofa in our suite, a book open in my lap. Something light and mindless, perfect for vacation reading. The ocean stretched endlessly beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, waves catching the afternoon sun.

The door clicked open.

Alexander stepped inside, loosening his tie with one hand while holding his phone in the other. He looked...satisfied.

"How'd the meeting go?" I asked, setting my book aside.

He tossed his phone onto the counter and shrugged out of his suit jacket. "Won the bid."

"Yeah?" I sat up straighter. "That's great. Congratulations."

"Thanks." He poured himself a glass of water from the minibar, downing half of it in one long swallow. "Though I paid way too much for it."
