His voice broke her out of her thoughts and she looked up then opened her mouth and closed it once more.

“No… I don’t need your help,” she blurted out after some seconds, with a raised chin.

Just now, she had almost given in to his offer. Then, her sisters-in-law’s words rang through her ears.
