Chapter 9. Her Lucky Day
Her head was still buzzing with thoughts when suddenly, something crossed her mind.
She placed a palm on her forehead, then the other palm and her frown deepened. Thinking back to the bottles of alcohol she had last night, she was supposed to have woken up with a splitting headache.
Why did she not feel even a slight pain? ‘This was a first.’ Did that stupid guy do something to her while she was drunk? Did he make her eat something?
‘Oh, no.’ Her hand flew to her chest, as her heart pound wildly. He wouldn’t have given her anything, she must just be lucky this time. She hopes so.
“Miss, are you alright?” She was jolted out of her shock by the driver’s voice and she found him staring at her through the rearview mirror with a puzzled look.
“No… Yes.” She quickly nodded then shook her head. “I-I mean, I’m alright. I’m fine.”
“Uhm… You look familiar.” The old driver continued. “It’s like I’ve seen you somewhere in the past… Where was it?”
