Chapter 7. His Help
Her heart started pounding against her chest. She could remember asking him to take her to a hotel. But looking around, this place doesn’t look like a hotel room.
Greg pulled his legs onto the bed and rested his back on the bed’s headrest. He supported his hands on the back of his head and said, “Why should I drop you at a hotel when I could spend the whole night admiring your lovely face.”
“Argh! You’re crazy.” Lucy stomped her foot on the floor, then her eyes darted around for her shoes. This scene looks all familiar. Why had she entered his car? She could have let the dogs chase her all night, then she might be in less trouble than she was now.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. You should be grateful that I didn’t drop you at the roadside when you filled my car with your cries…” He sized her up with an amused grin, her red angry face eliciting him more. “Don’t worry, there’s no reporter around, your teensy tiny image is safe this time.”
