Chapter 25. You Didn’t Listen to Us
Lucy lowered her head while fidgeting with her hands. She sniffed and her eyes darted to where her purse lay on the bed. She picked it up and staggered out of his room with slumped shoulders.
After the door closed behind her, Greg turned around and kicked the bedside table with clenched fists. What kind of a woman was she? Would she prefer being tortured by that bastard instead of seeking for help? When he took her in his arms last night, she was weak and sick. And immediately his lips landed on her freezing ones, she passed out.
Every evidence had pointed to one thing. That bastard had being bullying her. She’s unbelievable. And here he was, risking everything to pull her out of her trouble.
Another chuckle escaped his lips and he heaved a heavy sigh. His eyes landed on the high heels stuck between the bed and the bedside table. And he looked at the breakfast which had lost its steam. He breathed out a heavy sigh then slumped on the bed.
