Chapter 26. Humiliated
“What are you still doing? I told you to get out!” Her father lifted his cane and both her brothers walked forward.
“Father—”
“Father—”
“Stay out of this, both of you,” The middle-aged man thundered. He held his chest then turn to her. “Don’t let me repeat myself.”
Her sisters-in-law sobbed and covered their mouth.
“W-We can’t take her to the basement,” said her second brother.
“Shut up!” Her father glared at him. “She thinks everyone is too small to discipline her. She can now do whatever she likes… You’re no longer one of us!” He turned to her and everyone in the room gasped. “You are not part of this family. And from now on, I don’t have a daughter like you.”
Lucy froze and everything became still. Her father was disowning her? Her stomach turned and dizziness overtook her.
“F-Father—”
“Never utter that name out of your mouth. Get out of this house, otherwise, I’ll use my hands to choke you to death.”
