Chapter 48. Falling for a Lunatic

The air around Carter and Audrey seemed tense, but she could feel her heartbeat, she always had a different reaction whenever with him but hid it very well. “ Come have lunch with me ”. He offered, every strand of bone in her desperately wanted to seat with him and enjoy this luxury of privacy, but for her, Carter was a lunatic, and she knew she would be in a hot mess if she danced to his every tone. “ Sorry, I can't, Tommy is waiting for me ”.

“ Tommy isn't your husband ”.

“ My so-called husband can eat with me at home, this is a workplace”. She frowns while he had a blank expression on his face. “ You are always proving difficult, do not worry, I made sure Tommy got preferential treatment ”.
