Chapter 31. A Token

The Pearsons are still going back and forth when they suddenly recall that they haven’t heard a single word from the riffraff as they call him all this while. They turn to where Juliet wheeled him and there he is having a huge smirk on his face. They had thought he left already because they were bent on forcing Juliet to push him away.

"Missed me, Avery?" Lucien asks and smiles up at her. "Don’t worry I’m here to stay."

She scowls at him and clenches her fist. "Take this thing out of here, Juliet! Now!"

"I can’t, mum. I’m sorry. Lucien will have to stay with us till he is medically fine." With that said, she wheels him away, leaving them to sort out themselves.

Mrs. Avery is astonished and so are Brooks, Brianna, and Mr. Santiago. They can’t believe that the good-for-nothing can still have such an impact on Juliet.

And to top it off, the Pearsons can’t just pinpoint why the aura around Lucien is so domineering eve
