Chapter 30. What Is It?
The look on Brooks Miller is so dark that one will think he is seeing a ghost. And his breathing is so erratic and coming out as if it is being forced out.
‘When you see a ghost you lose your senses and your head swells up for a split second or minute or even minutes.’
That is the state Brooks is in. He looks so lost as he stares at Lucien but yet his eyes are not on him. But somewhere far beyond. His stare is so distant.
Not one bit did he believe that Lucien would survive such a terrifying fall. And all he thought all this while was that he was finally free to take Juliet and use her to fulfill his heart’s desire. A heart desire he has built right from the day he heard about the Pearsons and saw Juliet for the first time.
Clearly, he thinks from his dick most of the time. He swerves his head as fast as he gets back himself to stare at Mr. Santiago who is just in the same state he is—lost and nudges him on the shoulder.
