Chapter 38. Golden Necklace

Lucien clenches his fist, feeling like giving Mrs. Avery a bit of what she craves but repeatedly cautions himself not to get physical with her because he knows if he is to get Juliet back, then he has to tolerate everything her parents do.

"Blowing hot, eh? Are you gonna hit me? Come on then! Hit me! What are you waiting for? Hmph! You’re such a curse! And all you bring wherever you go is bad luck! That’s the mere reason you are bent on making life hard for us instead of leaving, asshole!"
