Scarlett's POV

Mark and I started our trek to my mother's hometown quietly.

It's tough for me to grasp what Mark is thinking, but for me?

Once I left my room, my mind started to run. Several things have occurred to me since then, and I still find it difficult to believe them.

Suddenly I recalled my conversation with Esmeralda.

"Would you mind coming here, Scarlett?" Esmeralda cried out sweetly, her face sparkling with excitement.

I grinned and crossed the lawn to where Esmeralda was reading.

I'm still baffled as to how Esmeralda can escape the castle when it's still daylight.

"Just what is it?" After asking, I switched to the opposite chair.

"The seamstress will be over later to measure us." "... So don't wander and remain in one spot," Esmeralda replies, putting the book aside.

With amazement, my eyes widened. "Does this imply that I'll be attending your engagement party?"

It had only been
