I was sitting in my office, grazing through the streets of New Orleans from my office window. The evening was young, and here I was, sitting alone in my office, thinking about a girl I could never have.

I called Alpha Nathan to give a human reply on his deal.

“Hello, Alpha Nathan,” I greeted as I tried hiding the seething hatred in my voice.

“Alpha Daniel,” he greeted back, “Well, did you make up your mind about the case?” he asked me. And I am sure he asked that with a lot of curiosity and hope. It was quite evident in his voice.

“Yes, I have decided that I will help you.”

There is no such thing as helping him. I just have to pretend to do so.

“I have arranged a banquet, and I am going to invite all the people that were on the guest list that day to the charity ball. I will also need three hundred men of yours for the operation,” I informed him, strategically making bait.

“Sure, sure, no problem,” he s
