The Unbelievable Truth

I was walking in a dark alley in New Orleans. I was informed I could find out about the Reagan of witches here, so I came here alone to find out about her.

“Going somewhere?” A voice boomed, and I jumped to my feet, scared by the sudden intrusion.

“Daniel!” I gasped when I saw him looking down at me.

He looked around and then asked me, “What are you doing here, Rose?”

“I need to find some information,” I replied vaguely.

“I can see that, but you should not be here all by yourself,” he said sternly, making me roll my eyes.

But then I turned my attention to the slight thud noise from the darker side of the alley.

“There is someone in the back; I can hear it,” I told Daniel in a whisper.
