Chapter 57. I Am Hideous

LUCIUS' POV

'Mate! Mate! Mate!'

Lucian kept dancing around in my head as I tried to hide myself from her.

'What the fuck is she doing here, Neal?' I asked through the mind link.

Being in this hideous form, I could not speak properly. Every word I tried to say came out as growling.

'To help you get better. Duh,' he replied.

'No! Get her out of here! Have you forgotten how I look?' I ordered.

"No, Lucius! She has already seen you like this. You need her to be back to your old self. It's already a little too late to hide." He said out loud while looking at me.

I growled at him and pulled the covers over my head.

How dare he defy my orders? I will surely punish him once I get back to my old self.

"I am begging you, Maia. If your mate bond can help bring him back to his old self, I promise that as soon as he is himself again, I will let you leave. No one would know that you were here. Please." I heard Neal say.
