I cleared my throat and said, "I, Layla Woods, lean..."

I got no further because Xavier took my face in his hands, leaned towards me and his lips met mine.

I was frozen. It doesn't matter what kind of reaction, but I wasn't expecting this one. It was absurd and didn't fit in the slightest with the denial I was about to voice. 

Actually, I had assumed that he would have accepted the rejection. Perhaps would have been happy about it and would have accepted it gratefully. But no, Xavier saw that as a reason to kiss me. 

The sparks could be felt as our lips touched which was beautiful. But I was overwhelmed with this situation.
