Chapter 4. A Killer

DANTE’S POV

She’s fucking perfect. I’m not kidding. She’s an angel. Mesmerizing, breathtaking, mouth-watering. Even if I learned every language that has ever existed, I still wouldn’t find the right words to describe Adeline. She’s a goddess.

I think about her as I strap my daggers in the back of my trousers, grabbing the bag that contains all my guns and torture weapons so I can get out of there before anyone gets here. I already cleared away any evidence that might give me away.

Even if the police came here tonight, they won’t be able to find anything to implicate me. My kills are always clean and untraceable.

That’s right. I just killed someone tonight, and I didn’t even enjoy torturing that bastard because Adeline was the only person that was on my mind. I usually spend two hours torturing my victims before killing them. But tonight, I was rushing through the kill because all I could think about was her.

I loved the look on her face when I was in her office today. She was so nervous; you could see it written on her forehead. She has that feisty look in her eyes but God she’s so beautiful. A literal angel. I couldn’t even handle myself while we were in her office.

Suddenly, the perfectly air-conditioned room was too hot and small to contain everything I was feeling.

The first time I saw her at that coffee shop she always goes to for her lunch breaks, I was immediately obsessed with her. I wanted to know every single thing about her.

I know it’s weird. A normal person would just approach her and lay down their feelings. But I’m not a normal person. I’m a killer.

Under normal circumstances, I would ask her out, give her flowers, and take her to the most beautiful places in the world, but involving her in my world might put her in danger. So, I’m left with no choice but to become a stalker. It’s pathetic, but I feel like I’ll die if I don’t see her.

That’s why I booked an appointment with her so she could be my therapist. That way I can spend time with her for a few hours every week.

I shouldn’t have left her that flower, though. I’m supposed to keep a low profile, but just as I expected, she didn’t call the police. I know enough about her to know that she can defend herself, but maybe she’s a little bit too brave for her own good.

I toss my bags into my car and drive away from the secluded mansion. Leaving the dead body inside for the rats and worms. Just what he deserves.

Don’t worry. The people I kill more than deserve what I do to them. These are people who have assaulted and done terrible things to little girls and boys, and when they’re done, they leave those little angels for dead.

My sister was sixteen years old when she was kidnapped and tortured to death. When she was finally found, the doctors said more than ten men had their way with her before brutally torturing her and leaving her to bleed out on the side of the road.

The day I lost my sister is the day I lost my humanity. I made it my business to track down and find anyone who does horrible things like that to innocent souls. I made it my business to give them the most gruesome deaths possible.

Some would say what I do is against the law, but I don’t fucking care. My sister was offered no justice, and the men who did that to her are still out there, living their lives freely. Not for long, though. Because I’ll find them, and I’ll kill them all.

That’s why no matter how attracted I am to Adeline, I can’t get close to her. I’m a monster, and the smart thing to do would be to get away from her completely, but she’s magnetic. I felt it from the first time I saw her, and now, all I can think about is her.

Those eyes, green and perfect siren shaped eyes that draw me in like I’ve never been before. Her long brunette hair falls so perfectly down her back and gives her face the most perfect shape. I need to know her.

I’ve been stalking her for two weeks now, and she has become like a d**g to me. I want to know everything about her. I want her. Just thinking about her right now is making me go hard as a rock. She’s driving me crazy and I don’t know for how much longer I can stay away from her.

She’s so fucking smart and determined in every single thing she does. Do you have any idea how badass a person has to be to be an accomplished therapist at age twenty-four? She still has her entire life ahead of her, and she’s already so successful. I don’t even know her, but I feel so proud of her.

She’s strong and independent and she doesn’t seem like the type of girl that lets people walk all over her. I’m beyond attracted to her and if I don’t get away from her soon, then there’ll be no saving me from her charm.

Once I get home, I take off all my clothes and throw them immediately into the laundry as I head for my shower. A warm bath is what I need to get my head straight.

But even as the water runs down my skin, all I can think about is my arms around her. She would look so perfect next to me. I want to have those lips all to myself. I want to protect her and keep her safe.

I want to make her scream my name.

I get out of the shower and walk over to my computer to keep tabs on my next victim. What a coincidence that the next person I’m going to kill is Liam James’ present client.

That’s right, the same Liam, who is Adeline’s best friend and a lawyer well known for never losing a single case.

His name is Ricardo Mel. He was accused of abuse, but knowing how much power he has and Liam’s reputation in never losing a single case, he’ll only get away with it.

I’m not saying every single person who has ever been accused of sexual assault is guilty, but I’m not a careless person. This man has hurt many people and he’s acting all innocent in front of cameras.

Luckily for me, I know better, and I’m going to kill him.

Sorry, Liam. But your case is closed.
