Chapter 46. Adeline’s Plan

DANTE’S POV

“We need to do something about Adrian’s bodyguard Dante?” Adeline says as soon as she hops into my car, and all my senses immediately go on full alert at the mention of Adrian and his pesty bodyguard, Xavier. I furrow my brows and snap my face towards her with a look that could kill me.

“What happened?” I ask her quickly.

“I think he was here.” She says, taking deep breaths. “I mean, I wasn’t scared or anything. I’ve taken many karate classes, and I know how to fight off a big man. But it was very disturbing the way he was just watching me. It didn’t look like he wanted to do anything to me, but the way he was looking at me felt so predatory. I was just eating, and I don’t know how to explain this, but I felt eyes on me, and when I looked up, he was right there at the restaurant where I usually go for my lunch breaks. It was weird, Dante. I mean, I know by now that Adrian Wellington is crazy, but I think I’m going to have to get a restraining ord
